The Catholic religion is the most practiced creed up to now in Argentina due to the mark of the colonization accompanied by Evangelists orders like Jesuits and Franciscan. They are several churches and festivities of this religion that left their mark on the Argentine ground.
There remain traces of pre-Colombian cultures espressed mainly in communities from the North and South of the country, monuments of stone, crafts and musical instruments.
Nevertheless, as a result of the migration wave of ends of the 19th century, arrived to this floor other monotheistic religions, besides the Catholic, like Christianity, Judaism and Islam. In these religions, the festivities lack a date established therefore they are governed for the lunar calendar. Among the main Jewish festivities it has to be mentioned the Pesaj, Shavuot, Rosh Hashaná, Iom Kipur, Sucot, Janucá and the International Day in Commemoration of the Holocaust; while among the Moslem festivals we find the Id al-Fitr, Ramadan, Mawlid and the Festival of the Sacrifice. Inside Christianity, Evangelical Churches are emphasized being their main festivals Pentecost, Easter and Christmas, just like the Catholicism. There is also a strong popular religiousness –some of this beliefs recognized by the Catholic church and some others not -, that venerate the Gauchito Gil and Difunta Correa, among others.
