The biggest adventure in Corrientes is found in Estuaries of Iberá. Its name comes from Guarani and means: "Water that shines". This is an area that calls for tourists as well as scholars of the entire world. Its unusual maritime state of high tide and low tide, and its fishing resources and wildlife make easy to fish and to practice underwater activity at 16 meters depth.
The estuaries and lakes of Iberá are one of the richest ecosystems of the whole country. Its borders are: to the north, National Route #12; to the east the dividing line made by the rivers Aguapey and Miriñay; to the west the dividing line made by the estuaries, streams and Paraná River and mainly the Batel-Batelito and to the south, the continuation of the dividing line of the east, that separates the system of the affluent of the right margin of the Miriñay and to the north the Pay Ubre, with a total surface of 13,000 squared kilometers, that signifies the 14.6% of the provincial territory.
Between the 20 and 30% of its surface are well delimited lakes. These water mirrors are more than 60; are among 2 and 3 meters depth; and in the coasts there are mainly dams. The most important lakes are: Luna, Iberá, Fernández, Trim, Disparo, Medina and Galarza.
