Balcarce is located in an strategic point in the Southeast of Buenos Aires Province. It integrates the mountain System of Tandilia 400 kilometers away from Buenos Aires, 100 kilometers away from Tandil and only 65 kilometers away from Mar del Plata. It is a place of mountain tourism and an icon of national motor racing.
In the mountain range the one that outstands is "El Triunfo " Hill. The Saw “La Barrosa” offers a viewpoint "El Mirador" and in the western slope is the Racetrack "Juan Manuel Fangio", where the saw offers an ideal point to watch the races.
In kilometer 35 of Route #226 is the access to the village of chalets, cabins, campsites and to the fishing club. In Balcarce are carried out adventure sports like paragliding and kayak, trekking and mountain bike.
The Racetrack "Juan Manuel Fangio" is located nearby the city center, in the northwest slope of Saw "La Barrosa". It was inaugurated on January 16, 1972. This racetrack is known not only because the important competitions that are carry out there but also because it is a perfect viewpoint, since almost the 4,592 meters that form this circuit can be seen from its natural grandstands (that are formed in the slopes of the saw).
