This Municipality lies close to National Route 38, north of San Roque Lake and parallel to Cosquín River.
It was named so after Dr. Juan Bialet Massé, an Spaniard who arrived in Argentina in 1873 and who built San Roque Dam.
It is strategically situated between Villa Carlos Paz and Cosquín in the customary route towards neighboring provinces in the northern valley.
In this place you will find resorts, camp grounds, handicraft shops, historical attractions, a Museum, a Culture Hall, churches, several shops, hotels and restaurants.

Se toma el año 1884 como fecha de fundación de este poblado que hacia la década de 1930 era sólo un puñado de casas y unas cuantas manzanas. La actual calle Malvinas Argentinas; que por ese entonces era un canal de riego que traía el agua desde la Toma y regaba las quintas cercanas al río y la estancia Santa Ana.
Esta localidad fue fundada por el Doctor que le dio el nombre: Bialet Masse. En 1884, el doctor Bialet Masse se inicia como empresario luego de llegar de España como médico y de recibirse de Abogado en Córdoba. Este reciente empresario escritura propiedades en el Valle de Punilla, donde crea la Fábrica de Cales y Cementos "La Primera Argentina". Dos años más tarde, asociado con Felix Funes, contrata la construcción del Dique San Roque y el Riego de Los Altos de Córdoba, el cual finaliza en 1889. Bialet Masse contribuyó a la producción del Valle de Punilla creando una infraestructura de aprovechamiento de aguas.
