Thus it is called to the picturesque road that flanks the saws Comechingones, on Provincial Route #1 to the south of Merlo Village, where is possible to find as charming as peaceful corners. One of them is Rio Seco Gully, one of the lowest points of Comechingones Saw in whose neighborhood lodges deposits of uranium and fluorite. Tala Gully is a deep fraction crossed by the stream called the same name. It shows abundant vegetation comprising “tala”, “molles”, and under the crown of these trees develops an abundant undergrowth of mosses, herbs and ferns. This gully is traveled through a zigzag path, crossing the stream several times.
One of the best-known is “Chorro de San Ignacio” located 3 kilometers away from the locality Larca Village. Following the river bed of the stream toward the east is found this waterfall of great beauty, with a 25 meters fall. Always flanking the stream we arrive at “Milagrosa Lake”. If we continue by a pedestrian path we will find “Deseo Lake”, and 250 meters away from there is ”Casa del Indio”, a natural excavation inside a great rock where are remainders of whom seems had been a Comechingón Indian. This area comprises a Municipal Tourist Complex of 6 hectares equipped with grills, tables and banks, campsite, Olympic pools for children and adult, parking lot, four groups of bathrooms for both sexes and electric light.
The exotic touch of Camino de la Costa is given by “Papagayos”, a small town located in the saw and characterized by its environment of Caranday exotic palm tree, that provide its fibers for the execution of attractive crafts. The town invites, besides, to a comfortable resort and Municipal campsite, and to a Museum dedicated to the aboriginal culture of Comechingones. Reserve Papagayos can also be visited in a spectacular mountain framework since it is a park created in order to preserve an important population of Caranday palm tree, native of the Argentine northeast and that curiously have multiplied with success in this area.
