This city is known as ¨The Historic City¨. It encloses eight national historical monuments, six spas and a thermal complex that attract visitors. The ¨National Festival of the River Beach¨
The city of Concepción del Uruguay is located on the right of Itapé River, one of the tributaries of Uruguay River. Six spas with extensive beaches, some of them on the islands, let you enjoy the water, do all sort of water sports and fish.
The natural island Cambacuá has a white-sanded beach 5 km long and a dense vegetation. Another well-known resort is Itapé Campground, historic place where a battle between Spaniards and Creole people took place, enclosing 1,000 meters of warm sand. Twenty kilometers from the city we find El Viejo Molino Campground.
Concepción is full of tourists during February and March, period in which Carnival takes place. Cheerfulness inundate the streets. Clothes and music infect visitors and their families.
The joy floods the streets with an air of healthy transgression, the expression of wardrobe and the music are transmitted to the visitors and their families. This city owns eight national historical monuments that provide evidence of different facts that marked the history of the country in the process of development of the republic. Among them we find the San José Palace, that was the particular residence of guardian hero of Entre Ríos, General Urquiza, There he spent the last twenty years of his life and there he was killed. Decorated with the exquisite architectonic style of the time, each of its 38 rooms tells us a different story. Also it is famous for having the first running water system of the country.
Aguas Claras Thematic Spas are one of main the attractions of Concepción del Uruguay. Its main feature is the special attention carried out by professionals. In addition, this complex keeps a National Historical Monument: a Forclaz Mill replica, built by the first settlers. All the services are available in the complex.

Fue fundada por Tomás de Rocamora el 25 de Junio de 1783 con el nombre de "Villa Arroyo de la China" y por ley del 26 de agosto de 1826, fue elevada a la categoría de ciudad. Se puede decir que fue una de las ciudades más importantes en la historia de nuestro país y por tal motivo la apodan "La Histórica".
Es considerada el primer pueblo adherido a la Revolución de Mayo y cuna de los Generales Francisco Ramírez (el Supremo Entrerriano, paladín del Federalismo) y Justo José de Urquiza (el Organizador de la Nación). Por este motivo, fue la capital de Entre Ríos de 1813 a 1821 y de 1860 a 1883.
El general Urquiza poseía aquí un saladero y puerto para embarcar su producción.
