Typical town of Traslasierra valley located 150 kilometers to the west of Cordoba city. It is linked to Mina Clavero through two bridges on Panaholma River, and one bridge on Los Sauces River. This picturesque village combines the landscape with the strong spiritual legacy of José Gabriel Brochero, visionary priest that built up the idiosyncrasy of this small locality.
Sulkies and horses are part of the calm physiognomy of the village whose humors pours in Centenario Square, the one that every day at sunset congregates with the color of the artisans that expose and sell their work; and local singers that convert the meeting in an unscripted dance.
Its restaurants, simple and provincial, keep the secret of tasty family recipes. For the lovers of good kitchen is recommended the "tour of specialties" through which they will be able to enjoy the best of each offering of the area: flamed or grilled kid; and humita, which is a flavored corn paste wrapped in corn leaves. A chapter aside corresponds to the pastelitos (Cuban pastry) and the alfajor, which are two traditional pastries of Traslasierra Valley.
In front of Centenario Square the old House of Spiritual Exercises can be visited, which was declared National Historic Monument, where functions the Brochero´s Museum and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Traffic, in which rest the remainders of Priest Brochero. There it can be also visited the house where he passed away in 1914, just like other works as the aqueduct "Chiflon Grande" built in 1882; the water faucet or the small dike for irrigation Agua de Chávez.
For those who enjoy the art and the diverse cultural demonstrations, from Cura Brochero Village there can be visited the seven museums that are found along the valley, as well as an endless number of churches and chapels of different styles and histories.

.. Historia (subir) |
