| It is one of the most colorful towns in the valley. La Cumbrecita dates from 1934, when the Ingeneer Helmut Cabjolski purchased 501 hectares next to the Great Mountain Ranges, decided to devote to cattle raising. A short time later and after building the first house (at present La Cumbrecita Hotel), a very important tourist future was noticed, directed mainly to an exclusive public of Central European origin. The rugged mountain ranges were covered by colorful specimens of exotic flora such as oaks, birches, cypresses, cedars and many other species that granted the place a special charm. The Central European typical buildings remind an alpine small village. Zoned 1º Pedestrian Town in Argentina in 1996, it invites the visitor to stroll along its winding streets enjoying a full contact with nature. The Del Medio River, together with winding streams surround an incomparable landscape. Different activities of Adventure Tourism can be developed all year round. A separate chapter deserves the gastronomy with exquisite central European typical meals, a delicious artisan´s confectionery, different specialties with trouts or the most authentic Creole food. |

La Cumbrecita nace en la década de 1930 como un sitio exclusivo para albergar conocidos de la familia del doctor Helmut Cabjolsky, quien comprara los terrenos del Cerro Cumbrecita añorando las montañas alemanas. Los cuñados del doctor comienzan a desarrollar un vivero para cultivar plantas de su europa natal y cosntruyen una casa de fin de semana que luego pasó a ser hostería y hoy es el hotel Cumbrecita.
El hijo del doctor, convertido en ingeniero, fue el encargado de diseñar el trazado del loteo de la localidad de La Cumbrecita. Este sitio nunca fue pensado con una finalidad turística, es más, sus primeros pobladores alemanes no deseaban tener contacto con la gente del lugar. Sin embargo, La Cumbrecita es hoy uno de los sitios de atracción turística internacional más exclusivos de la Argentina.
