Los Hornillos is the closest town to the sun since it is located in the highest point between Mina Clavero and Villa Dolores.
This is the reason why it has a temperature some degrees below the one of the rest of the towns in the valley.
It lies at the foothills of the mountains and invites people to climb it walking or riding. It is a village surrounded by high mountains with a dense population of carob trees, molles, talas, chañares, aromos and tabaquillos. It has over 300 species of medicinal herbs and over 200 hundred species of birds. In short, it is a natural spa that detoxifies the body with its highlands microclimate. La Ventana, La Repetidora y La Totora are some of the mountains inviting the visitor to climb them. In addition, nothing better than a large swimming pool to mitigate the effects of the sun.
European-styled inns and cabins offer top-level services surrounded by nature.
Tea rooms devoted to German confectionery, mountain breakfasts with fruits of the season, maté with homemade bread, goat cheese and honey; local jams and alfajores are some of the options before adventure tourism.
Then, restaurants serve atherine and trouts to recover the energy.
Waybill. By Villa Carlos Paz. Here you may choose between the Altas Cumbres road or Cruz del Eje.
By the former: Córdoba/Villa Carlos Paz by the freeway; then, by Provincial Route 14 to San Antonio de Arredondo, Icho Cruz and Copina to the joint with National Route 20 by el Cóndor. Once in Traslasierra, it meets Provincial Route 14; turn left there, go ahead 20 km and you will reach Los Hornillos.

Toll: in freeway, $ 1.
By the latter: from Villa Carlos Paz towards the north by National Route 38, to Cruz del Eje and Villa de Soto; there, you turn left by Provincial Route 15 (San Carlos Minas, Salsacate) to Villa Cura Brochero, Mina Clavero, Nono and Los Hornillos.

A fines del siglo XVII, sobre estas tierras se asentaban la Estancia Los Molles y el Paraje Los Hornillos. Permanecían separados por un arroyo y la propiedad pertenecía al Gral. Bartolomé Olmedo, y se extendía desde Nono, hasta Achiras. Por el año 1714, el paraje fue cedido a su hijo Enrique Olmedo, quien creó la Estancia Los Hornillos, levantando a su alrededor casas, corrales, huertas, capillas y molinos.
Al morir Bartolomé Olmedo, en 1762, la parte este de la estancia la cede a su hermano. Así se vende, se separa, la parte oeste convertida hoy en Los Pozos. A principios del año 1900 dos fervientes devotos de Santa Teresita del niño Jesús prometen la construcción de una Iglesia a cambio de la concesión de una gracia.
De esta manera se inaugura la Capilla, el 3 de octubre de 1937, convirtiéndose Santa Teresita en la Patrona de Los Hornillos.
