Nono is a town that has its stamp in the two small hills that frame it and that, in native language (ñu ñu), means “woman breasts”.
It is surrounded by Los Sauces and Chico de Nono Rivers that make up a bucolic postcard of Traslasierra Valley.
Its small downtown has a typical checkerboard layout, the center of which is the square that gathers the people of the place. The square is surrounded by San Juan Bautista Church, the Police Station, shops, a typical grocery store and small bars where the youngest gather.
The village seems to be an inspiration source for artists who meet in the square every year in January and February.
How to arrive:
By Villa Carlos Paz. Here you may choose between the Altas Cumbres road or Cruz del Eje.
By the former: Córdoba/Villa Carlos Paz by the freeway; then, by Provincial Route 14 to San Antonio de Arredondo, Icho Cruz and Copina to the joint with National Route 20 by el Cóndor. Once in Traslasierra, it meets Provincial Route 14; turn left there, go ahead 7 km and you will reach Nono (146 km).
Toll: in freeway, $ 1.
By the latter: from Villa Carlos Paz towards the north by National Route 38, to Cruz del Eje and Villa de Soto; there, you turn left by Provincial Route 15 (San Carlos Minas, Salsacate) to Villa Cura Brochero, Mina Clavero and Nono (295 km). Toll: in freeway $ 1; National Route 38, Molinari, $ 1.20; National Route 38, Villa Giardino, $1.20
By Falda El Carmen. Another option is by freeway to Villa Carlos Paz, then take the road to Falda del Carmen (C45) and from there, by Provincial Route E96 to the Bosque Alegre Ground Station where the road joins National Route 20 or Altas Cumbres Road. Toll: freeway $ 1.
