This beautiful city lies on the banks of the river with the same name, at the center-west of Entre Ríos Province, of which it is the Capital City. It can be reached by land or plane. Paraná means ¨father of the waters¨ in Guarani language. The great parks and the beaches alternated among ravines and viewpoints make of the river the main protagonist. One of the activities that the tourist should not miss is the visit to the German colonies of the Volga. Doubtlessly, the most extensive green space is the Urquiza Park. It lies along the river bank with riverside paths of different heights. Stone steps allow the access to the waters and the path goes into zones of extensive vegetation. Other green spaces of recreation are Toma Vieja, Gazzano Park and New Park. In the latter, the flagpole of the Flag stands with a height of 55 mts. Numerous architectonic jewels dazzle in this city: the Metropolitan Cathedral that dates from 1882, the Normal School Jose Maria Torres, the first normal school of the country, the Municipal Palace and the Post and Telecommunications Building, that were residence of Justo José de Urquiza. The most developed activities in this city are the nautical ones such as windsurf, water skiing, wakeboard, swimming, sailing and sport fishing. In Parana waters, the competition sport takes speed in the contests of the Power Boat Formula. In addition, a few kilometers from the city, excursions in 4 x 4, rides, mountain bike, hiking, fishing, yatch-races and agro-tourism can be done. |

.. Historia (subir) |
