In Traslasierra, 10 kilometers befote Villa Dolores, by Provincial Route 14, we find Las Tapias. From there, 10 kilometers towards the southeast we arrive at the old towns of San Javier and Yacanto, which lie on the west slopes of the Comechingones Mountains. Settled at a distance of 1,500 meters between them at the foot of Champaquí (2,886 m) they show an architectural uniformity that matches the calmness of the landscape. They share the Town Hall with headquarters in San Javier. When you enter this town, the first thing you find is the square, around which you find the church (dates from 1910), grocery stores and a pulpería, and the inevitable horses tied to the fence and sulkies that coexist harmoniously with the 4x4 vehicles.
Six kilometers away we find Quebrada del Tigre. Inside the town there are also impressive landscapes such as Barranca de Los Loros, El Carrizal and Baño del Obispo.
Yacanto is represented by the hotel with the same name. Its architecture has the classic English style, with wide walls and the class of the old ranches.
Surrounded by streams, one hundred year-old carob trees and well kept gardens, there is a golf course with 9 holes.
At present there are also country houses and colorful hostals and cabins. In addition, the place offers gastronomical options for those with a discerning palate. This complements the activities of alternative tourism such as trekking; mountain bike; rides; excursions in 4x4 vehicles; recognition of medicinal grass, and golf in the Yacanto Hotel or the Hostería the Pucará.
How to arrive. By Villa Carlos Paz. Here you may choose between the Altas Cumbres road or Cruz del Eje.
By the former: Córdoba/Villa Carlos Paz by the freeway; then, by Provincial Route 14 to San Antonio de Arredondo, Icho Cruz and Copina to the joint with National Route 20 by el Cóndor. Once in Traslasierra, it meets Provincial Route 14; turn left there, go straight past Nono, Los Hornillos, Villa Las Rosas and Las Tapias.
By the low way: From Villa Carlos Paz you go ahead northwards by National Route 38 to Cruz del Eje and Villa de Soto. There, you turn left and take Provincial Route 15 (San Carlos Minas, Salsacate) to Villa Cura Brochero; then you go straight past Mina Clavero, Nono, Los Hornillos, Villa Las Rosas and Las Tapias. Turn left again and take Provincial Route 14 to San Javier and Yacanto. Total distance: 332 kilometers. |

.. Historia (subir) |
