It lies on hillcocks and hollows and has a landscape microclimate that painters find very interesting. There you find Lino Spilimbergo Museum in the house that was the artist´s home.
At the foothills of Sierras Chicas, Unquillo is a place worth visiting. It was the village chosen by Lino Enea Spilimbergo, who lived there all his life, till his death. This village dates from 1914 just as the Sierras Hotel building, at present, headquarters of the municipal government. In February, during the second fortnight, the Unqui-Corso is celebrated (Carnival parade of Unquillo). This festival is 53 years old and is famous for the carriages parade, music groups, fancy dresses contest, and the election of the queen of the festival. The General San Martín Municipal Sports Center encloses a large swimming pool, football and volley fields, children´s playground and a campground.
Lino Eneas Spilimbergo Municipal Museum: in the house where this famous artist lived till he died (1896-1964), 290 Spilimbergo Avenue. It was opened in 1970 and there exhibitions, conferences and other cultural activities take place.
Schedule: Wednesdays to Saturdays from 10 AM to 12 PM and from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM; Sundays from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
Casa de la Cultura: (Culture´s House) In this building, cultural activities take place. It encloses an old carob tree over 300 years old.
