By National Route 7 (by Potrerillos) or Provincial Route 52 (by Villa Vicencio) we arrive at Uspallata Valley. Enclosed by a longitudinal pocket 60 by 20 kilometers, between 1.900 and 2.500 meters high we find Villa de Uspallata, with very attractive poplar groves and afforestation. There we also find Mendoza River and San Alberto and Uspallata streams. It was a very important relay in the Royal Route of the Viceroyalty and a mining center. It was also very important in San Martín´s campaign. It encloses two important military regiments. . Outstanding sports done here are sport fishing, climbing and adventure and cultural tourism. This journey can be done by private vehicles and by route buses or tourism companies that offer excursions. It also serves as a link between Argentina and Chile.
