It is made up by Tupungato, Tunuyán and San Carlos and is located between Cordón del Plata and del Portillo. The cultivated valleys are similar to tiles of different colors, crossed by Tunuyán River and clear streams. Impressive, Tupungato Hill is enclosed in the Provincial Park, full of glaciers, perennial snows and volcanos. Interesting rides can lead you along the route followed by Ejército Libertador through El Paso del Portillo or to the Laguna del Diamante Reserve and Maipo Volcano. Enclosed in the natural landscapes are historic places such as the Historical Apple Tree, the General San Martín´s Self-Sacrifice Monument or the Villa de San Carlos Small Fort. It combines agricultural tourism, camping, climbing, riding, fishing and fauna sighting such as condor nests or guanacos herds. The folk tradition is a lifestyle reflected in the National Festival of the Ballad in Tunuyán and in the Tradition Festival in San Carlos, as well as the breaking-in and the farm tasks done at the ranges.
