Pilar offers the finest rural atmosphere of Buenos Aires consisting of country clubs and gated communities that are the scene of the most important business and social events in the province. It is a city of Buenos Aires which is northeast of Buenos Aires province 54 km from the city of Buenos Aires Buenos Aires Rosario Highway. Its tourist attraction is given by its beautiful countryside and leisure proposals that combine with it.
Pilar has a high level of accessibility as it is connected to the rest of the metropolitan area by numerous national and provincial routes: Routes 8, 6, 28, 25, 26, 234, and the branch Pilar de Pan, making it becomes a regional inter-node privileged.
One of its great natural areas is the Natural Reserve of Pilar. There are hundreds of acres for the conservation of flora and fauna where one can appreciate the Sarandi Colorado declared a Natural Monument.
The golf and polo are the leading sports in this city. Pilar is called the National Capital Polo leading to the creation of playing fields and the home of the best players ranked among the best internationally.
The Estancia Tourism and religious tourism attractions are also in Pilar. Nearby we can identify the "Place of the Miracle, where the Virgin of Lujan decided to stay in their journey to Santiago del Estero. After being worshiped there for 40 years was brought to its present location in the Basilica of Lujan party.

Like most parties in Buenos Aires, the land currently part of the game in Lujan were ceded land division called "Luck of stay" a Spanish navigator in 1580. Allowed to stay there the settlement outposts and to stop the advance of the natives. The first pillar was established population along the river (later called "Lujan").
Pilar is written a page in national history when on 23 February 1820 signed by his original parish called Treaty of Pilar in which peace is signed between Buenos Aires, Santa Fe and Entre Rios, the first step to a country's federal program.
Lujan River Floods force to move the settlement of what is now known as Pilar Viejo. Is set on a hill near the city we know today that has the largest Industrial Park and South America be the world capital of polo.
