Cerro Campanario is a branch of Nahuel Huapi Lake between the coast and San Pedro Península. From its top, the view is really beautiful thanks to the exuberant vegetation of San Pedro Península. Eduardo O´Connor called it Cerro Campanario in 1883. It is 1049 meters high above sea level and is situated between the branch with the same name and Perito Moreno Lake. It is cone-shaped due to the effect of denudation. It has belonged to Don Primo Capraro. Monseñor De Andrea celebrated an open-air mass on February 2nd 1930 and left there a commemorative cross. You can make your ascent by the new chairlift built by Doppelmayer with state-of-the-art technology applied to speed and safety and offering the tourist a 7- minutes-ascent. It is made up by eight towers and forty chairs and is 640 meters long. They can carry 450 people per hour. It has two stop points: one 1050 meters high and other 770 meters high. At the top of the hill, there is a tearoom that can accomodate 80 people with two beautiful terraces and a spectacular viewpoint 20 meters high.
