Coihue El Abuelo is a great specimen of this tree whose antiquity oscillates between 400 and 500 years. Its huge trunk can be embraced only by among 8 and 10 people.
To arrive we can leave from the Tourist Office by 7 Lagos Avenue (Route #231) and 16 kilometers away we find a path that takes us to Coihue Abuelo and to Brazo Ultima Esperanza of Nahuel Huapi Lake. We arrive at a viewpoint from where can be appreciated Espejo Lake Mirror, Espejo Lake Hotel and the homonymous campsite. If we go along this path we will cross a Coihue tree forest until arriving at a green Pampa that was an area of population settlement in the past.
From this place follows a path towards Coihue El Abuelo among labyrinths of Coihue cane. The path is extensive and permits moments of slow march and rest. After being amazed by this fabulous specimen, we return the path to green Pampa having the possibility of going along it up to the lake Nahuel Huapi gaining access to a beach ideal for you to rest.
