Las Quijadas saws form part of what is called Route of the Dinosaurs of Cuyo. This National Park covers around 150,000 hectares, of which 60% corresponds to the National Reserve Las Quijadas Saws. The saws were formed by folds occurred 5 or 6 million years ago, forming part of a region of peculiar geological characteristics. It offers an imposing landscape of stratified walls in various reddish tones, where is possible to travel by cliffs, cornices and terraces, observing the profiles worked for centuries by the influence of wind and water. It was declared National Park in 1991, and it lodges not only representative samples of vegetation, but also testimonies of the past through archaeological remainders of Huarpe culture and valuable paleontology sites.
