The Lighthouse San Juan de Salvamento, better known like the Lighthouse of the End of the World, is located at the northwest of Isla de los Estados, to the south of Argentine Republic. This second name comes from the homonymous novel of Julio Verne who was inspired in this lighthouse to write it.
Its construction dates from 1884. In that epoch was the only light the navigators had. The original lighthouse was in ruins a lot of time until its restoration work in base to the original design began.
