The park is located only 45 kilometers from Colon City, between National Route #14 and Uruguay River. "El Palmar "-The palm grove- is a natural reserve since 1965 being the southerner palm grove in the planet. It is conformed in its dominant species by the big palm tree called scientifically SIAGRUS YATAY, of which have been found 800 years old specimen.
An ideal place for the sight of birds due to inhabit there multicolored birds that fly over the 8500 hectares of streams, a rustic vegetation and roads in very good conditions that travel through the diverse circuits, making possible the appreciation of all the reserve.
The indigenous fauna of the park is composed by capybaras, rheas, viscacha, partridges, otters, skunks and even some boar.
The park counts on beaches and places for the practice of nautical sports and fishing, and there is also a camping site, restaurant and sweetshop.
