This is an opportunity to travel through the old Angostura and to feel what the pioneers felt. The old path to Espejo was opened between 1934 and 1936 due to a Work Plan of National Parks.
From the Tourist Office and following 7 Lagos Avenue up to the Square of Colectividades you must take the road on the right-hand side that goes to Bervedere Hill and then to the left enters to the road that 300 meters away crosses Paisil Stream. On this way, you will get to the layout of Circunvalacion Route. Continuing along the old path towards Correntoso Lake, Epu Laufquen Neighborhood is crossed and you will arrive at Correntoso Municipal Campsite. Passing this place we will find the old bridge over Correntoso River, which has being turned into a pedestrian path. Its height is of approximately 35 meters, making possible a beautiful view of Nahuel Huapi Lake, Correntoso Lake, the River and the mountains. Also from the bridge can be appreciated Correntoso Hotel built in 1948, as well as the old Correntoso Cottage, made of wood. Its owners were Primo and Rosa Capraro who in 1927 received tourists that, crossing the lake from Bariloche, arrived to have a cup of tea with typical European confectionery.
Taking toward the left we reach the Route #231 and crossing the new bridge taking the access to Villa Correntoso Neighborhood, from the small square we reach again the old path. Going ahead we will cross Coihues Stream that still conserves its old sign; further, a fence will indicate us that the road narrows. The years, disuse and the vegetation have turned the road in a path that invites to be traveled.
We can stop on La Rana Stream, whose bridge is known as Puente de los Suspiros (Bridge of Sighs). Finally we arrive to the Viewpoint Espejo from which are observed the Routes #231 towards Chile, and #234 or Of The 7 Lakes that conducts to San Martin of the Andes and Traful. Village
