Two large green spaces in the city are destined for the leisure activities. One of them is Parque de las Naciones (Park of the Nations) located in the corner of Riobamba and La Pampa Streets. The property occupies 22 hectares and conforms an interactive and of multiple uses park, designed and built to carry out common activities of entertainment, technical investigation and education. It comprises a careful landscape, arbors, pergolas and thematic gardens with samples of exotic and native vegetation. In its interior there is a system of interconnected lakes and channels that drain in a main lake.
The other green space is Park IV Centenario located in Costanera Avenue between Ascasubi St. and Route #3 on the north and south margins of Seco River (known also as Chorrillo River). It is an interactive urban of multiple uses park and, landscaped with natural exotic and implanted vegetation. At present the surface used for activities is of 36 hectares divided into two sectors along H. Ascasubi Street. It has a Cultural- Recreational Sector and "El Faro de la Sabiduría" -The Lighthouse of Wisdom-. This last one is a 38 meters height window, with mechanical elevator. In the ground floor functions a modern virtual - multimedia library. In the central walk there is an attractive fountain, playground and a pedestrian runway and also for bicycles though where is gained access to the north coast. On the north coast there are also paths, the continuation of the bike-path, pergolas and arbors. It has external and internal parking lot.
