This stony stripe of land that penetrates in the Atlantic Sea harbors one of the most tender and inoffensive species of the planet: the Magellan Penguin. This maritime bird was named after one of the first European that crossed the southern seas, and it chose Punta Tombo to mate and to nest. In 1979 Chubut Province declared this place “Wildlife Reserve”.
Year after year, the penguins arrive to mate, to nest, to get birth to their babies and to grow, to return then to lands located to the northeast of South America following the ocean currents. The visitors walk among the nests and can be photographed next to these nice and tender men´s friends.
