Cervantes National Theater One of the most important national theaters, visitors can find there the National Institute of Theater Study, an archive, a library and a museum showing clothes and portraits of well-known actors. Its facade reproduces the University of Alcalá de Henares´ in Spain. To decorate the inside, several materials were imported: tiles from Valencia, red floor tiles from Tarragona, mirrors and seats from Sevilla, tapestry and curtains from Madrid, and streetlamps and lamps from Lucerna.
General San Martín Theater General San Martín Theater was created by a Decree of the Local Executive with the purpose of ¨promoting the national theater in its purest traditional sources¨. Its construction is very functional and it is made up of reinforced concrete, crystal and hard metalworks. It has three theater halls, a cinema, workshops, storage rooms, etc. It has two stable casts: the Contemporary Ballet and the Puppeteers Group.
At present, it makes up the Theater Complex of Buenos Aires, together with the following theaters: San Martín, Presidente Alvear, Regio, De la Ribera and Sarmiento.
